Humans are rather diurnal mammals and have always cast out their fears by imagining frenzied characters. Despite a long oral tradition and sometimes famous writings, there is still some confusion about shy elusive creatures, such as sprites and elves.

A more universal figure, the witch riding her magic broomstick always keeps a foot in reality! And what about wizards, enchanters, and alchemists, who have disturbing powers but maybe also the philosopher’s stone, a source of infinite wisdom.Their animal friends: owls and ravens stare into space, offended not to be cause for fear anymore; the toad maybe swallowed its spittle… that used to be a valuable sauce base. As to the cat, perhaps it still has nine lives, but nobody cares. And what about the dragon…
